Seattle microdosing mushrooms, explained by a Seattle shop: which capsule strength people start with, what the city and county rules actually cover, what the research does and doesn't show, and where to find support. Capsules are packed here and ship the same business day.

Where do people in Seattle get microdosing mushrooms?

Not from a store: Seattle's 2021 resolution lowered the enforcement priority but didn't create any legal retail, so there's no licensed shop in the city. Most Seattle microdosers order online and have capsules shipped.

We pack ours in Seattle. Capsules are filled to an exact milligram in all three strains (Golden Teacher, Albino Penis Envy and Albino Bluey Vuitton), we hold lab reports on the batches we sell, and orders placed before 2:00 PM PT on a business day ship the same business day: overnight on Next Day Shipping ($45), two business days on 2 Day Shipping ($9.99), or free to a PO Box.

For everything else about ordering in the city, dried mushrooms included, see our Seattle shop page.

Which capsule strength should a Seattle microdoser start with?

Most people start with 150 mg, the low end of the usual 100 to 300 mg microdose range. 300 mg is for people who found 150 too subtle after a fair trial, and 600 mg is above microdose territory for most people.

Every strength comes in packs of 10, 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100, and the price per capsule drops as packs get bigger: roughly 20% less per capsule at 20, and at least 40% less at 100. All three strains are available at every strength on the order page.

Capsules exist because a microdose is too small to weigh reliably on a kitchen scale. If you'd rather measure your own from dried mushrooms, here's how to measure a microdose; for timing, our microdosing schedule guide compares the common protocols.

Is microdosing legal in Seattle?

No, though it's a low priority. Seattle's Resolution 32021 (October 2021) made entheogen-related activity among the city's lowest law enforcement priorities, but psilocybin is still a Schedule I controlled substance in Washington and possession is a gross misdemeanor.

When the resolution passed, the City Council described Seattle Police practice as not detaining or arresting anyone solely for possessing entheogens. It also noted that this doesn't protect people who grow them, or people whose possession comes to light during an encounter that started for another reason, and that the practice isn't written into department policy.

King County added a motion of its own in March 2026, but it covers only unincorporated areas. The full state picture, county by county, is on our Washington laws page.

General information, not legal advice. Laws in this area change quickly; for your situation, talk to an attorney licensed in Washington.

Is there psilocybin therapy in Seattle?

Not legally, outside research. Washington has no licensed psilocybin program; the closest legal access is Oregon, which licensed its first psilocybin service center in 2023 for adults 21 and older.

The University of Washington's psychiatry department announced a clinical trial of psilocybin for veterans and first responders with PTSD and alcohol use disorder, set to begin enrolling in early 2025, under a pilot the Legislature created in 2023. A 2026 bill for a statewide medical program, SB 5921, stalled before the session deadline.

Microdosing at home isn't therapy, and capsules aren't a treatment for anything. If you take any prescription medication, ask your doctor before you start.

Does microdosing actually work?

The evidence is mixed. In placebo-controlled studies, people have often improved about as much on empty capsules as on real microdoses, which suggests expectation does a lot of the work (AP, April 2025).

That same AP report featured a Marine Corps veteran in Olympia who microdoses, and it cited a RAND estimate that about 8 million Americans used psilocybin in 2023, half of whom said they microdosed the last time. Plenty of people find it worthwhile; the controlled research just hasn't confirmed why.

If you try it, keep notes, change one thing at a time, and take days off, because tolerance builds quickly with daily use. Our guide to what a microdose feels like sets out what people report.

Where can Seattle microdosers get support?

For a hard moment during or after any psychedelic experience, Fireside Project runs a free, confidential peer support line: call or text 62-FIRESIDE (623-473-7433), any day from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Pacific. In an emergency, call 911.

For product questions (strain, strength, timing), text us before or after you order and a person replies. We aren't clinicians and can't give medical advice.
